Day 8 - Sunday, August 09

Anchorage was ok, but we realized that we want to stay away from the big cities. Alaska and Yukon are all about the wilderness and emptiness. That's how we like it! On the way up heading east, back to the Yukon, we found this stunning glacier!

It was a rainy day, but the bad weather made it a bit melancholic. Different scenarios...

The clouds were really low and I wish the camera could capture the real thing. It was gorgeous!

This restaurant called Buckshot Betty's is definitely one of the best so far. It was all home made food, including the bread. If you are ever crossing the US-Canada border at Beaver Creek, that's a must stop place.

After 10 hours driving we arrived at Destruction Bay, in the Yukon. We chose this place because of my friend Jessica (from City TV Calgary), who lived here for a while. It's a really beautiful little place, especially when our motel room has a water view. Talking about motel room, we scored this time. The Talbot Arm Motel is the biggest, cleanest and nicest room that we had so far in this trip. Well, as far as I know, it's also the only place to stay in Destruction Bay.

View from our room, at the Talbot Arm Motel.
Tomorrow we will head back to Alaska to get the ferry south. It should be the most beautiful drive.

  1. Haha, I told you, that sign "the biggest city in Alaska" scares hehehhe. Quando a gente está num lugar desses melhor ficar longe das grandes cidades, hehehe. Belo passeio esse hein!!

  2. Olá crianças,

Cada vez mais deslumbrantes as paisagens!!! Além do esperado. Acredito que seria necessário estar presente para sentir a "alma" desta natureza exuberante...
